The other day Jim Meade stopped in and mentioned that he was going out to help Wally fix some track down by Tupper Lake. I jumped right on that naturally. Here's a couple of pictures from our work.
This is just north of Tupper Lake station almost to MP 115. It had been caused by a plugged culvert that allowed water to accumulate on the east side of the tracks until it washed away anything resembling ballast and ties. We put 8 new ties in and some new fill.

Much more to do here but Wally was going back down on the following Monday. It was actually good to get out there and get real dirty and wet. You get to appreciate what these guys do everyday.

Here's one of our man John Norton. He is without a doubt one of the most talented men I've ever had the pleasure to work with. The railroad is truly blessed to have him on their staff.

Our Good man and Trainmaster, Chuck Rowlee behind the wheel of the 6076.

Overlooking Sabattis at MP 94.78

Not sure where this one is but I assume it's near Raynor Brook as well.

Raynor Brook bridge. This is the one that gave us all sorts of trouble last year. It's been shored up and holding very well.

Another shot of the Raynor Brook bridge.

Another one of Sabattis.

Many thanks to Larry Pitbladdo for the air shots, to Linda Fountain for the Chuck and John shots, and Wally for the track work pictures.
Now as promised a couple of pictures of my little engineer friend, Galen. This shot was taken by his Mom while we were doing the run-around. It was his birthday present to him, from me.

And one more of me waiting to pull out from the Saranac Lake depot.
